Yep, Hudson's Treasure Hunt. It's a salvage store that receives its inventory from stores that have been damaged in some way. For instance, if a Macy's floods or catches on fire, Hudson's will buy their inventory, and sell it for a fraction of the price. Everything is always at least 40% off, if not more. It is hit or miss most of the time, but you can find really great stuff with no damage at all at a fraction of the price it retails for. Most of the time the inventory Hudson's receives has little to no damage, but the retail store can't sell in in their store anymore, because it was in a flood or fire.
Adam, Brennon and I stopped by Hudson's on Saturday, and it was our lucky day! They had just received a large shipment from all the flooding in the Northwest. They had racks and racks of designer shoes such as Jessica Simpson, Nine West, Cole Haan, designer clothes like Micheal Kors and Calvin Klein and a huge kitchen appliances shipment with brands like Cuisinart and KitchenAid.
I scored some awesome deals on some shoes and clothes, but my favorite finds were in the kitchen appliance section.
We got this awesome Index Chopping Boards set. It retails for $75, and we got it for $40. I've never seen a chopping board set like this, and I just love it. It looks great on our kitchen counter.
We tried out the ice cream maker last night. It was so neat and made the ice cream in under 20 minutes. I wasn't too impressed with the taste, but we'll just have to keep making ice cream until we find the perfect recipe.
If you have a favorite homemade ice cream recipe you'd like to share, I'd love to try it.
