Lights Out

I don't know about yall, but in our neck of the woods yesterday, there was some REALLY bad weather.  So bad that I had to get in the stairwell at work due to tornado warnings.  It was very scary!

When I got home from work, lots of trees had fallen, but we still had power.  Right as we were settling in to watch an episode of Lost around 7:30, the power went out. So out came the candles!

Adam during one of his many NCAA National Championship status checks on his phone.  Poor guy - he was so excited that all his games were cancelled due to the bad weather, so he could watch the National Championship game only to have the power go out.  Adam LOVES basketball, especially college basketball.

Gotta love the wet hair.....

Beaufie looking just a tad bit possessed!  Poor Beauf was confused the whole night.  He didn't understand why we weren't going to bed.  Lights out equals bed time, duh!

The night consisted of a few dozen hands of rummy and calling it a night early.  Thankfully, it was nice and cool outside so we weren't hot (Katrina flashbacks!!), and the power came back on sometime during the night while we were asleep.

P.S.
Happy Birthday Dad!!
He is the Big 5-0 today, and in a few short weeks, he will be running his first half marathon right along side me and Adam.  You're never too old - it's not about age; it's about determination!  Love you, Dad!  You rock!
