Evening on Franklin Street

There is an adorable and very authentic Italian restaurant on Franklin Street (the main street in downtown Chapel Hill) called Trilussa. I had been once in the Fall with my friend Sherry, but Adam had never been. We wanted to take his family there when they were in town a couple of weeks ago for graduation, but it didn't work out. So tonight, Adam and I decided to eat there.

It is literally a hole in the wall place. The whole restaurant is no bigger than an average bedroom, if not smaller, but it is the cutest place on the inside. The walls are decorated as if you were walking around in Italy.

(How cute is this place?!?)

The food is also delicious!

(My delicious chicken parmesan)

(Adam enjoying his dish - can't remember what he had and sadly, neither can he, but he did like it)

Sticking with the Italian theme, after dinner we walked down to Sugarland, a cute little bakery on Franklin Street as well, for gelato (Italian ice cream). I had lemon, and Adam had peach. Foodnetwork is actually spotlighting Sugarland's gelato in their new summer show "Kid in a Candy Shop." The episode is slated for the end of July.

It's wonderful living in a town with such a thriving downtown area. There are so many great restaurants to try, and we are trying hard to always go somewhere we haven't been to yet.

Now it's time to change into some pjs and watch Prison Break with Adam. Have a wonderful evening!
